Bottom Line: If you use Outlook for Windows to access your email, you should follow the instructions below to apply a quick update to Microsoft Office.
Detail and Instructions:
We learned of a serious bug in Microsoft Outlook which causes it to stop saving emails you send in the Sent Items folder. It still sends the emails, but they are not saved. Microsoft released a fix for this and is delivering it through the regular Office Update mechanism.
Even if your Microsoft Office is not affected by this bug, it doesn't hurt to update Office. This update is quick but will require that all Office apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) be closed. If you're an Outlook user, you should do this update right away to make sure you have this fix.
Here are the instructions to do this:
In Outlook, select File:
Then select Office Account:
If you do NOT see the Update Options button, then no further action is required. You're done!
If you see the Update Options button, continue with this process: Click Update Options:
And then select Update Now:
Microsoft will let you know whether you are up to date. If you are, you'll see this, and you're all set - no further action required:
On rare occasions you will get an error:
If you get the error above, please restart your computer and start again!
Otherwise, the update will begin downloading:
Follow any instructions it gives during the update process. These will vary from machine to machine. At the end of the process, it will let you know that you've completed it. Just click Close and you're all done!
As always, contact us if you have questions or need assistance with this - thanks!
